FAQs

Find out more about The Digital Kit Catalog via some of the frequently asked questions listed below.

  • Does your tool come with any digitals preloaded onto it?
No, as this would infringe on the copyright of other designers.

This tool is an Airtable template that I've specially designed to enable you to quickly start a visual catalog of your digital kits, which you can then categorise by designer and theme.

I've set up all the views you need plus various dropdowns and other features to help you start a catalog of your kits.

It only takes a minute or two to add each kit to it, so you can focus on the fun part: creating!
  • Can I upload PDFs of my kits to the catalog?
I've primarily designed this tool to help you see the kits you own in a more visual way than just little folders on a computer screen.

There is functionality included to enable you to upload the actual kits themselves to the tool. But please bear in mind that the free plan, which I use has a maximum data allowance of 1GB per database at the time of writing.

I've done some testing with it and I could upload 20 complete kits (of different sizes) to it before running out of data.

If you want to use the tool specifically for this feature, then I'd recommend only uploading the full PDFs for the kits you've not yet gotten around to using and storing the rest of them on your computer or hard drive like normal.

Otherwise, if you're only uploading an image of each kit to help you keep track of what you've purchased, then it should be a very long time before you run out of data.
  • Why did you build this tool using Airtable?
I've used lots of tools over the years to help me keep track of my digital purchases. Trello, spreadsheets, Google Drive, computer folders, workarounds using the favourite feature on Etsy, you name it.

But when a friend told me about Airtable, I had to check it out. What I found was a fantastic tool that combines a lot of what I love about some of these other platforms... into just one easy-to-use online tool.

In Airtable, you can easily slice and dice your data in different ways. And I've already done the "hard" part for you by setting up different views, filters and groupings, so my digital kit catalog is ready to go straight out of the box!

My favourite feature is being able to filter your kits by designer or theme, so you can find what you need for your next project super quickly!

Oh! And did I mention Airtable itself is completely FREE to use?!
  • Do I need to pay for any other tools/software?
Nope! While Airtable does have a Pro version, you don't need it to use my tool. I've built it using only Airtable's free features. Even I don't need the Pro version!
  • I'm not technical - will I find your tool hard to use/understand?
Once you've had a play around inside Airtable, you should find that it's easy to use and understand.

It'll take you less than a couple of minutes to add each kit to your catalog.

Plus, I've created some video tutorials to show you how to use the tool.

And if you're still struggling to use it, I'm just a quick email away. I'll always do my best to help you.
  • Do you offer refunds?
Due to the digital nature of this product, I'm unable to provide refunds.

But if you have any issues accessing or using the tool, please email me at justine@houseofmahalo.com.

I'll always do my best to help you.
  • I still have questions...
I'm only too happy to help! Send me an email at justine@houseofmahalo.com and I'll do my best to answer your questions.
